Extraction comes first
Removing water mechanically is far faster than evaporating it. The more water taken out at the start, the less the drying equipment has to do.
Airflow and dehumidification
Air movers encourage moisture to leave materials, while dehumidifiers remove that moisture from the air so it does not settle elsewhere. One without the other tends to move the problem rather than solve it.
Measurement decides when drying ends
Drying is complete when readings in affected materials match comparable unaffected areas, not when surfaces feel dry to the touch. Readings are taken at the same points over time so progress can be compared.
